Senate Energy and Water Appropriations Bill Summary
The Senate Appropriations Committee has passed the Energy and Water
Development funding bill with strong increases in many energy efficiency
and renewable energy programs, although the funding levels in several
instances are, as expected, not as high as they are in the House version
of the bill. Of particular interest to ASERTTI members, the Department
of Energy’s Industrial Technologies program received only $65 million,
$35 million less than the House, yet it contains a new cross-cutting,
cost-shared manufacturing initiative. To access a summary of major
programs of interest to ASERTTI members

As previously reported by ASERTTI, Congress is expected to pass a
Continuing Resolution that would fund the government at current funding
levels through the early part of next year. At that time, the bills
produced this summer would likely be taken up in an omnibus package,
with some changes made and compromises negotiated between the House and
Senate versions. For more information on appropriations matters, please
